What’s The Difference Between Vanquish & Coolsculpting

If you’re looking to permanently eliminate fat from an area on your body, there are two main options on the market…Vanquish and Coolsculpting.

If you can’t decide which one to choose, you’re not alone. It can be overwhelming to sift through all the different information out there, and that’s why we’re going to break it down for you here so you can choose what’s best for you.

The most notable difference between Vanquish and CoolSculpting is that Vanquish increases the temperature of fat cells to melt them away, while CoolSculpting reduces their temperature to freeze them. The body flushes out the fat from the area that was treated naturally over the next several weeks.

Difference #1 – Size of Treatment Area:

Vanquish can reduce fat around the entire abdominal area, whereas CoolSculpting can only treat pockets of fat with one applicator at a time.

Difference #2 – How It Works:

Vanquish uses heat AND radio frequency technology to destroy the fat cells beneath the skin, & coolsculpting freezes the fat cells.

Difference #3 – Invasiveness of Treatment:

Although Coolsculpting is also a non-invasive procedure, the applicator is placed on the skin so that the vacuum can pull the treatment area into the cooling panels. This means that there is quite a bit of physical contact between the applicator and the skin, while Vanquish is completely contactless.

Difference #4 – The Most Importantly..The Results:

Since the Vanquish device can target such a large area of the body, it usually takes between four to six weekly treatments of 30-45 minutes, depending on the area.
Coolsculpting can only treat a small amount of skin at a time. This means that for an area the size of the abdomen, the procedure requires about four to six treatments, each one on different parts of the abdomen. Treatments usually take an hour each, but all of them may need to be repeated up to three times.

Difference #5 – How Long it Takes to See Results:

With Vanquish some fat cells will die off immediately meaning that some patients will notice results pretty much instantly. These will then improve over the next several weeks.

On the other hand, results from Coolsculpting take longer to become noticeable. In most cases, it takes three to four months to see the final results.

Difference #6 – What are the Results Like?

Vanquish will result in a reduced thickness of the fatty layer of the skin that has been treated. Research shows that for Vanquish, the loss in weight that the fat reduction causes is something that most patients are able to sustain over the long term.

Since BTL Vanquish treats quite a large area of the skin at a time, this means that the end results are smoother and more consistent.
With Coolsculpting, small areas of the skin are treated at a time, which means that the overall results can sometimes be uneven, and even a little lumpy.

Difference #7 – Vanquish Bonus Result:

There is an amazing extra benefit to Vanquish that we would love to share with you…

Not only does it destroy fat cells but the heat produced by Vanquish can also tighten the skin in the treatment area! Research also suggests that collagen regeneration takes place after a radio frequency treatment such as Vanquish, which leads to a more youthful appearance. And who doesn’t want that?!

Difference #8 – Side Effects:

With Vanquish there are not really any side effects. This procedure requires zero downtime, meaning that you can get back to your daily routine immediately after each treatment.

The only thing that you may notice during your treatment is that your skin turns slightly pink from the heat, and you may even end up sweating slightly. However, this is easily fixed by having the device repositioned.

There are a few Coolsculpting side effects to know about. The first is possible nerve pain due to being frozen. The second is Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH), which is basically the sudden growth of fat tissue in the treatment area.

Difference # 9: – Candidates for Each Treatment:

Coolsculpting requires a protruding amount of fat in order for the treatment to work. However, it does only treat very small areas of fat at a time.

Vanquish is more universal, so as long as you are at a relatively healthy weight, this treatment will effectively target any unwanted fat around your body.
